Even though schools are closed indefinitely due to the emergence of the coronavirus, FYI’s Mentoring Program is working on ways that our mentors can stay connected with their students.
All mentors are being encouraged to stay in contact with mentees through social media and camera apps like FaceTime and/or Skype. The staff is also working with the Clark County Juvenile Court to continue classes with their youth through pre-recorded Skype and video sessions.
We are also encouraging our supporters to volunteer with Tecumseh Local Schools on their free lunch distribution program, which is keeping students fed weekdays during this shutdown. The school district packs breakfasts and lunches to last five days and then delivers them on a specific day using what is affectionately being call “The Lunch Bus.” Call 937-845-3576 for more info on this program.
Please pray for all of FYI’s programs, and if God would want you to help us out during these challenging times through volunteering or donating. If you have any FYI-related questions or concerns, just call our office at 937-845-0403.
